Taco Burgers, Quick and Easy Super Bowl Idea

Taco Bell had something on the menu that I loved as a teenager but it disappeared from the menu years ago.  It was called a Bell Burger.  The cost was 29 cents!  This is my version and it is much quicker than making tacos on busy days and a good alternative to Sloppy Joe's.

Diane's Taco Burger:

One package of hamburger buns
1 pound of ground beef
1 package of Taco Bell Taco Seasoning
Shredded cheese
Shredded lettuce (Iceberg works best for this)
Taco Bell Taco Sauce

Cook the meat according to the directions on the seasoning packet.  Place the cooked meat on a bun, top with cheese, lettuce and tomato.  Add taco sauce to taste.  Makes 4-6 servings depending on bun size.

Serve with tortilla chips and salsa.
You can use other brands, but for it taste like the original, stick with the Taco Bell products.

If you want to embellish it, add guacamole and a thin slice of tomato.

Tip:  To make "sliders", use dinner rolls, such as Parkerhouse, in place of the hamburger buns.

Diane's Guacamole recipe:

3 ripe avocados  They should give to a light squeeze, but not be soft and mushy
Remove the skin and pit
Mash well
Add 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
1/4 cup chunky salsa  (I use Pace, medium)
1 teaspoon of orange juice (optional)

Mix well.  You can change the amount of seasoning to your taste.

Enjoy!
