A Quick Dessert

I like to keep frozen mini-cream puffs on hand. They can be dressed  up in no time and in 10 minutes you have an impressive dessert.  If you want to make your own cream puffs, you can fill them with a non-dairy topping and freeze them.  Or you can freeze them without filling.  Just place them on a cookie sheet and place them in the freezer until frozen.  Remove them from the cookie sheet and place in a storage container or larger freezer bag.  I have a recipe in another blog for my favorite cream puff recipe.  This is the link:

For this dessert, place four or five frozen cream puffs on a plate.  add sliced fresh strawberries around them and drizzle with some hot fudge.  The cream puffs thaw in 10 minutes.

A variation would be to use the cream puffs in place of short cakes topped with sugared strawberries or fresh peaches.

Try topping them with frosting and add  chocolate shavings.

For Christmas, dip in melted white chocolate and red and green sprinkles.  Put a tooth pick in the bottom and cover a cone shaped piece of styrofoam with the puffs for a festive buffet dessert.

They are also  great for a chocolate fountain or fondue.

Give them a try and see what you can come up with.  I would love your ideas, too!
